Tooth Whitening Products .

We would all like to have a dazzling smile. There is nothing worse than discoloured or rotten teeth. Regardless of whether you happen to be male or female, decaying teeth can be both unhygienic and embarrassing and can make you very self conscious.

Factors such as alcohol, smoking, fizzy drinks and coffee can cause enamel to discolour. Using antibiotics or an extreme intake of fluoride can also aid discolouration.

Fortunately, these days, there’s products available on the market that you can use to help whiten your teeth.

If you want to try and combat the discolouration yourself, then you can find both whitening gels and pastes that you can use. However, continuous use of some of these solutions can start to wear away at tooth enamel.

Paint on best whitening toothpaste gel is applied with a special wand and best adheres to dry, clean teeth for best results.

Whitening strips is another process you can use from home. These strips are attached directly onto the enamel and are coated with a bleaching agent. Again, ideal results are obtained if stuck to dry, clean teeth.

An additional alternative for tooth whitening, and normally fitted by your dentist, is a bleach solution mouth guard. Used over a 2 week period, a bleaching solution is added to a mouth guard and safely and effectively bleaches the teeth. This product is best used over night.

Of course Cosmetic dentists have more ways in which to whiten your teeth, with laser treatment being the most successful. Not surprisingly, advanced treatment like this can be pricy and recently people are tending to use home methods rather than pay a visit to their dentist.

Oral hygiene is very important and it is essential to look after your teeth, even from a young age. Regular checkups at the dentist are necessary and cutting back on coffee, fizzy drinks and sweets can help combat plaque and discolouring.

Be patient with whichever procedure you choose. Both home and dentists methods don’t work overnight, however, effects can be seen from as early as 2 weeks.
